Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on his re-election as Egyptian president.
China and Egypt are good friends who share the same vision and trust each other, as well as good partners who work hand in hand for development and common prosperity, Xi said.
In recent years, China-Egypt relations have flourished, with fruitful pragmatic cooperation in various fields and deepening friendship between the two peoples, he noted.
Xi said he attaches high importance to the development of China-Egypt ties and is willing to work with President Sisi to promote Belt and Road cooperation, safeguard the common interests of developing countries and advance the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership to better benefit the two peoples.
