The Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has allocated 100 million yuan (about $14.1 million) in funds to assist with disaster relief in quake-hit Gansu and Qinghai provinces in northwest China.

The funding comes from Party fees collected from CPC members and administered by the department on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.

Meanwhile, China's Finance Ministry and Transport Ministry also issued 30 million yuan in tandem for urgent road repairs in Gansu and Qinghai.

Traffic resumed on all rural highways connecting areas severely affected by the earthquake as of 7 p.m. Tuesday. All expressways, as well as national and provincial trunk roads in Gansu and Qinghai, are now operating smoothly.

On Wednesday, China's Commerce Ministry also said it's organizing nearby provinces to provide commodity supplies to the two quake-hit provinces.
