- A magnitude-6.2 earthquake jolted Jishishan County in northwest China's Gansu Province at 11:59 p.m. on Monday at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to China Earthquake Networks Center.
- The earthquake has killed 113 people in Gansu and another 18 in the neighboring Qinghai Province. Hundreds of others have been injured in the quake as rescuers race against time to find survivors amid freezing temperatures.
- Telecom services and power have been fully restored in quake-hit Gansu and Qinghai Provinces, and the highways and rural roads there reopened on Tuesday night for disaster relief vehicles and rescuers.
