The Chinese authorities are making every effort to ensure smooth delivery of disaster relief materials, stable supply of daily necessities and timely treatment for people injured in the earthquake-hit areas in northwest China's Gansu and Qinghai provinces. As of 8:00 a.m. on December 20, 135,500 relief items had been allocated to local authorities. Medical workers have also reached the affected towns and villages to examine and classify the wounded. The officers and soldiers who went to provide support also made meals and soup for the affected people in the shelters.
