The UN Security Council vote on a resolution calling for a pause in hostilities between Israel and Hamas has been rescheduled for December 20, as members struggled to find compromise on the resolution's wording. In remarks to the council on December 19, China reiterated that the two-state solution, which is the broad consensus of the international community, is the only way out of the conflict.
