The Chinese mainland is still the best place to invest for the business community of the Taiwan region, said Lee Cheng-hung, president of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland, on Wednesday.
Lee made the remarks during a publicity and promotion event for Taiwan investment on the mainland held in Beijing on Wednesday.
"Friends of Taiwan's business community have traveled all over the world, finding that the Chinese mainland is still the best investment destination," Lee told the media. "It was, it is, and I believe it will be still so in the future."
At the event organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, relevant departments and institutions were invited to interpret the mainland's policies to attract investment, enhance integration between Fujian and Taiwan, and support Taiwan compatriots and medium and small-sized businesses.
The departments and institutions also made presentations on the investment environments of key mainland provinces, regions and cities.
Lee urged Taiwan businesses to integrate actively into the mainland's high-quality development and work together to boost the economy of the Chinese nation.
