China Media Group on Friday released a list of documentaries it plans to air next year in an event celebrating the cultural ethos demonstrated by these films.
The 50 documentaries unveiled at the ceremony, which was attended by Chinese officials, including CMG President Shen Haixiong, showcase the distinctive spiritual symbols of Chinese civilization, revealing the rich content of stories from contemporary China, according to CMG.
These films focus on the changes and developments in societal progress, Xue Jijun, a member of the editorial board of CMG, said in a speech at the event.
Through observing reality, they aim to evoke the loveliness of life, bringing warmth, inspiration and strength to a wide audience, Xue said.
Upholding tradition while embracing innovation, the documentaries delve into historical roots to appreciate the beauty of civilization, promote the spirit of China and transmit Chinese culture, he added.

The documentaries are divided into three sections – the loveliness of life, the admirability of civilization and the anticipation of the future.
The first section, which captures patriotic feelings and presents heartwarming narratives, tells stories that range from the development of Hong Kong's delicacies and society to the ethos of contemporary Chinese doctors.
The second section, which displays the charms of Chinese civilization and injects cultural impetus into a new era of reforms, depicts Chinese cultural heritages such as the Yangtze River and ancient relics from Dunhuang.
The third section, which employs cutting-edge multimedia technologies as well as rich global resources, documents multidimensional journeys that evoke thoughts on time, nature and science.
