The production of Kazakh embroidery is a national intangible cultural heritage in China. As a Kazakh embroidery artisan and inheritor, Hatima Ainaidou has been attempting to combine Kazakh traditions with techniques and patterns of other embroidery styles. She also founded a village cooperative to promote Kazakh embroidery and to help local female members increase their income.
