Israel and Hamas resumed fighting in the Gaza Strip on December 1, the day after a temporary seven-day ceasefire ended. For Palestinians who have fled from northern Gaza to Khan Younis in the south, the end of the temporary ceasefire meant that the door to hell was reopened. For the families of the detainees, the end of the temporary ceasefire meant that their hopes were once again been dashed.
CGTN followed Gazans as they moved south in large numbers during the temporary ceasefire, documenting their hardships and despair on Salah al-Din Road. We also followed 31 premature babies who were evacuated from the ruins of Al Shifa Hospital and documented their long journey to safety. In addition, CGTN entered overcrowded UN shelters to document hundreds of people struggling to survive in tents.
