Construction starts on CMG's UHD Innovation Center

The construction of China Media Group's (CMG) Ultra-high-definition (UHD) Innovation Center started in Beijing on Saturday.

Yin Li, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Municipal Committee, Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and president of CMG, Sun Yeli, vice head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Hu Jinjun, vice president of CMG, attended the launch ceremony of the UHD Innovation Center with other guests.

In his speech during the ceremony, Shen said that CMG has firmly grasped the central theme of innovation and vigorously promoted the development of ultra-high-definition industry and technology research and development, as well as application, since its establishment.

He stated that the commencement of construction for the UHD Innovation Center represents a significant measure of enhanced collaboration between the CMG and Beijing Municipality.

CMG signed a memorandum with the People's Government of Beijing Municipality during the ceremony. The two sides will engage in more profound and comprehensive strategic cooperation in the 8K UHD audio industry's innovation and development domains, jointly enhancing China's core competitiveness in UHD audio. This collaboration aims to lead the new trend of media technology development and elevate UHD technology achievements as a national priority for promoting innovation and development.

The UHD Innovation Center is situated in the Mentougou District of western Beijing and adjacent to Shougang Park. It is strategically positioned at the core of the western Beijing area's transformation and development.

Upon completion, this project will serve as a prominent venue for broadcasting or recording numerous high-quality programs like the Spring Festival Gala and "National Treasure."
