A Pacific storm pounded coastal areas northwest of Los Angeles and continued its path through San Diego, extending into the deserts on its way to Arizona. After a slow progression down the California coast throughout the week, the storm's main impact hit San Diego just before midnight on December 21. A large swath of Southern California will remain under a flood watch before drying out for the weekend.
