Rational communication is crucial to understanding China and there should be further exploration to enable Western people to visit the country to experience the beautiful scenery as well as the variety of Chinese culture, said former Prime Minister of Belgium Yves Leterme.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with China Media Group, Leterme noted that facts are the key element for people to try to understand China, adding that it is wrong to trust information that is one-sided as it does not benefit the long-term well-being of people.
"I think the key element is to look at the facts, the facts, the figures, and the reasons why things happen. I think that's fundamental to understand each other," said Leterme.
