A China-built multi-purpose pulp vessel, the world's largest, was delivered to the Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (BoCom) in Dalian City, northeast China's Liaoning Province on Friday, according to its developer, the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.
Measuring 225 meters in length, 32.3 meters in width, and 21 meters in depth, the vessel, named Green Santos, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 77,000, can travel at a speed of 15 knots (around 27.8 kilometers per hour).
In addition to loading pulp, it is also suitable for transporting high-speed trains, wind power equipment, new energy vehicles, heavy machinery and other goods.
Its maiden voyage is expected to transport new energy vehicles and other goods for export.
The ship manufacturer has previously delivered its 62,000 and 68,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessels.
