Fan Kuan was one of the most famous painters of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) with a style that greatly influenced later landscape painters. His Travelers Among Mountains and Streams uses panoramic composition to depict towering and majestic mountains with a vertical waterfall and floating clouds.
