The Buffalo Bills defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 24-22 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Saturday, securing their third straight win and improving their record to 9-6.

The Bills are currently in second place in the American Football Conference (AFC) East behind the Miami Dolphins (10-4) and now have a better chance of reaching the playoffs than a month ago when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bills' quarterback (QB) Josh Allen's performance in Saturday's game was classic Allen. He completed 15 of his 21 passes for 237 yards and one touchdown, rushed to score two touchdowns and threw one interception. He has posted at least one passing and one rushing touchdown in 11 consecutive games and threw at least one interception in 10 of the past 11 games.

Allen's offensive explosiveness has been why he and the Bills were often seen as Super Bowl champion candidates in the past four seasons. He led his side to score two touchdowns in two drives in a row after three attacks ended with punts. His ability to throw deep is so incredible that wide receiver Gabe Davis only made four connections to post 130 yards and score one touchdown.

Nonetheless, Allen's problems are obvious as well. He made too many risky, if not poor, choices, which turned him into a turnover machine. In their first drive in the second half, he threw an interception by safety Alohi Gilman in the second play. The Chargers scored a field goal in the following drive to cut their deficit to one point (14-13).

Though Allen immediately completed 10 plays for the Bills to score another touchdown by himself in the next drive, he was sacked right in front of the Bills' end zone on a 3rd & 23 in the team's following offense, giving the team a bad chill when Sam Martin punted.

Allen's erratic performance was not the only reason Saturday's game was so close. Though this was only the second time the Chargers' QB Easton Stick started in a game, he did surprisingly well by completing 23 of his 33 passes for 215 yards with no interceptions. He also rushed for 25 yards with seven carries and scored the team's only touchdown.

Kicker Cameron Dicker made key contributions for the Chargers, too, by making all five field goals, including one from 53 yards.

In the other game on Saturday, the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-11 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That two teams now share the same record of 8-7, and the Bengals are at the bottom in the AFC North, below the Steelers.
