Located 10 kilometers southwest of the Old City of Jerusalem is an ancient village called Al-Walaja, situated just a few hundred meters from the Israel-Palestine separation barrier.
Al-Walaja is home to a 5000-year-old olive tree, and vast expanses of olive groves can be seen in the West Bank. However, the olive groves near the separation barrier have not prevented war and conflict from recurring.
