The Taiyuan Northern Qi Dynasty Mural Museum has opened in the capital city of northern China's Shanxi Province. It's the first mural museum in China to be built at an imperial tomb site. The tomb excavations began in 2002, and more than 330 square meters of well-preserved colorful murals, rarely seen in China or abroad, were discovered. It was one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in 2002.
