With the assembly of a 30-metre-long dragon-shaped lantern nearing completion, "Impressions Jinan Spring World," a recreation, shopping and entertainment hub in Jinan, east China's Shandong Province, is preparing for a surge in visitors ahead of Spring Festival, which falls in early February next year.
To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, which is also the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac, around ten sets of large-scale lanterns inspired by dragons, historical celebrities and cartoon characters have been installed in the commercial area. The nearby streets were also decorated with colorful lights to create a festive atmosphere.
