Live updates: Israel warns of 'long fight' in Gaza as death toll rises

- The Israeli army's Chief of Staff, Herzl Halevi, said on Tuesday that "the war in Gaza is expected to continue for many more months." A day earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the northern Gaza Strip and vowed to continue the fight.

- At least 20,915 people were killed and 54,918 others injured in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7, the Gazan health ministry said on Tuesday.
