Three BeiDou satellites were sent into orbit in 2023. Xie Jun, deputy chief designer of the BDS system, told CGTN that 2023 has been "critical" for the system's development. He also said the aim for BDS in 2024 would be to better integrate China's satellite navigation system into new technologies, including artificial intelligence and 5G.
