Rainfall raises flood risks in parts of Germany

00:32

The German weather service has predicted flooding in some parts of the country, as rain persisted on Christmas Day and is forecast to continue into December 26. The Bavarian town of Kallmuenz, in the country's south, was flooded on Christmas after heavy rainfall caused the nearby river Naab to burst its banks. In the central state of Thuringia, the village of Windehausen was surrounded by water, and its 400 residents were evacuated.
