Chefs in east China's Shandong Province are busy creating huabobo, a kind of local steamed bun, to cater to market demand ahead of the upcoming Chinese New Year. This traditional delicacy is usually eaten on special occasions such as birthdays, weddings and celebrations like the Spring Festival. In recent years, Shandong huabobo chefs have been experimenting with innovative new styles and flavors while upholding the traditions of this culinary craft.
