How can a 22-million megacity in China become a "park city" and garner widespread attention worldwide? What is the recipe for success when it comes to green and sustainable development? In this special program of The Hub "Green Talks with Mayors," Wang Guan talks to Wang Zhihua, deputy Mayor of Chengdu, the capital city of China's southwest Sichuan province, to look at some of the city's most iconic projects and initiatives to promote decarbonization, bring about sustainable development, and raise public awareness of climate change issues. Talking about the relevance of C40, a global network of nearly 100 Mayors of the world's leading cities united in climate action to deal with the climate crisis, Wang Zhihua believes that learning from each other's experience is crucial to achieve green targets and sustainable goals. And Wang Guan goes to Chengdu's Angong community to see for himself how the "sky garden" has transformed this old neighborhood and how waste sorting provides highly sought-after fertilizer.
