The World Health Organization's Emergency Medical Team Coordinator Sean Casey on December 26 said that "almost all of the hospital services have stopped functioning" across Gaza, as he described scenes of "significant casualties" arriving at Al-Aqsa hospital after an airstrike hit the Maghazi refugee camp on Christmas Eve.
Speaking from the Joint Humanitarian Operations Center in Rafah, Sean Casey described the scene as "carnage" as large numbers of severely injured people arrived at the hospital while capacities to treat them are lacking.
