Eight Chinese nationals were among the 18 dead in Indonesia after a fire broke out at a nickel smelter on Sulawesi island over the weekend, China's Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday.
Several others injured were being treated at hospitals, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated, according to local media.
