Héloïse Gentil, a French woman who worked on both the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, received a visit from Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2019 while working for the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee in Beijing. According to her, President Xi has provided important guidelines for constructing a leading sporting nation, as sports – especially winter sports – help enhance people's physical fitness, thus contributing to the overall development of society.
