Huawei executive: We survived the harshest winter

02:45

Chinese telecoms giant Huawei and automaker Seres unveiled a full-size luxury SUV on Tuesday. The Aito M9 is a culmination of Huawei's latest intelligent automotive solutions, including high-level assisted driving features for busy urban roads. The six-seater has garnered some 54,000 advanced orders since pre-sales began three months ago. Seres says it's ramping up production and will start volume delivery on February 26. Powered by advanced, made-in-China processors, Huawei's new car and smartphones are signs that the tech giant is overcoming stringent U.S. export controls. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, says the company survived "extreme difficulties" in the past four years but will now accelerate innovation efforts after making a comeback with leading-edge products.
