Organizers of the 2025 World Games, a multi-sport event staged by the International World Games Association (IWGA) under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), officially opened up global solicitation for the design of the event's emblem, mascot and slogan on Thursday.
Submission for the emblem will close in April next year, and in July for the mascot and slogan, with cash awards for selected proposals. Besides open submission, the organizers will also invite professional personnel and utilize digital design.
The World Games will take place in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, in August 2025, marking the event's debut on the Chinese mainland. It will cover 35 sports including Olympic programs such as archery, kayak, gymnastics and breaking as well as non-Olympic competitions such as frisbee and wakesurfing.
