In pursuit of its aim of enhancing national capabilities in high-throughput genetic sequencing and precision medicine, the South African Medical Research Council has found an excellent partner. Advanced equipment provided by the Chinese company MGI has not only expanded South Africa's research capacity in the field of genetic science, but also propelled joint exploration and innovation by the two parties into new areas.
