In 2020, a very special newborn came into the world: Hanbao, the first second-generation Yangtze finless porpoise to arrive under the auspices of China's captive-breeding program. Now, thanks to the loving care and attention of the staff at the Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he's finally grown to porpoise adolescence.
