Qatar has proposed a new deal to end Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to media reports.
According to the proposal's outline, the first phase will include a humanitarian exchange deal that will include the release of 40-50 hostages in exchange for a complete ceasefire of a few weeks, the Jerusalem Post reported on Friday.
The report added that the details of the second phase are not clear, but "the direction is to arrange a withdrawal of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops from the area."
Neither Israel nor Hamas have yet responded to the offer, according to the report.
