Widespread power outage in Sudan capital as fighting continues

CGTN

Widespread power outage hit Sudan's capital on Saturday morning as fierce fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues, damaging a power station in northern Khartoum, local media reported.

Djibouti, the current chair of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), said on Saturday that it will host a meeting of the leaders of the two warring sides next week.

Deadly clashes erupted in Khartoum and other areas on April 15.
