Egyptian Tanoura dancers twirl to the sound of drums. The dance has been around for about 700 years, and traditional dance troupes perform it exclusively for tourists in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and other cultural centers. It has long been popular with tourists because of its spectacle. Check out the highlight of CGTN's livestreaming event, "Read a poem for 2024."

CGTN launches a 24-hour livestreaming event in seven cities worldwide on December 31 to celebrate the New Year with people from around the world. The livestream starts simultaneously at 08:00 GMT (4 p.m. Beijing Time) in Sydney, Xi'an, Changsha, Almaty, Cairo, Paris and Mexico City. Residents in those seven cities are invited to go on air and talk about their New Year's resolutions, read a poem, or give New Year's blessings to others.
