In 2023, international trade closely linked the Free State in South Africa with Guangdong. Through a long-term supply agreement with COFCO Group, 62 farms exported their first batch of high-quality field corn to the southern Chinese province, supplying fish farmers there. The move not only spurred the growth of South Africa's corn industry, but also benefited many ordinary Chinese citizens, creating a complete supply chain, from farms to dining tables.
