No abnormalities have been reported in nuclear plants so far after a series of major earthquakes rocked central Japan on Monday, the government said.
Japanese public broadcaster NHK has warned torrents of water could reach as high as 5 meters after the quake and urged people to flee to high land or a top of a nearby building as quickly as possible.
