Live updates: Over 100 killed after powerful quakes jolt Japan

- Over 100 people have been confirmed dead, with more than 200 people remaining unaccounted for, in Ishikawa prefecture since a series of earthquakes hit the area in central Japan on Monday, local media reported on Saturday.

- The Japan Meteorological Agency has officially named the series of strong earthquakes, with a major one of magnitude 7.6, the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, TBS said on Friday.
