In several places of the famous Taihang Mountain Range in north China's Shanxi and Hebei provinces, some waterfalls have frozen into a myriad of enchanting ice columns and curtains, forming mesmerizing ice shapes off the sides of cliffs.

In Niangziguan Town of Pingding County in Shanxi's Yangquan City, a waterfall has frozen due to an extreme drop in temperature. Shards of ice droop from the waterfall on the western foot of the middle section of the Taihang Mountain, creating a live picture of water flowing next to static columns of ice.

In a southern section of the Taihang Mountain, the Xingtai Grand Canyon in Xingtai City of Hebei, there is another such waterfall with the pure white ice-wall stretching for miles. Crystal-clear ice formed on various plants, including bamboo shoots and flowers, bringing visitors a winter fairytale town.

Visitors flocked to the waterfalls to admire the natural phenomenon.

"A very beautiful and breathtaking view," said a tourist.

"The crystal-clear ice columns now form a picturesque scenery against the background of this majestic mountain, which looks especially spectacular," said another tourist.
