Qinling Mountain range is the northernmost region where snub-nosed monkeys are found. Among all snub-nosed monkey species, the ones living in Qinling are known for their golden hair and blue face, in addition to their short and flat nose with forward-facing nostrils which is a typical characteristic of the genus.

The subzero winter in the forests located at this latitude could turn out to be quite an ordeal, but these tree-dwelling monkeys have established their own ways of dealing with the cold: by cuddling together.

About Journeys in Nature: Cloudy Qinling Series

Qinling Mountain range is among the regions with the richest biodiversity in the world, specifically hailed as the northernmost treasure trove of subtropical wildlife. Sitting between northern and southern China, the majestic mountain range is regarded by some as the country's "central park" and an important symbol of Chinese culture. Keep an eye out for the giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, takin and other rich wildlife in the cloudy Qinling Mountains.
