China deplores stray Myanmar shells, calls for immediate ceasefire

CGTN

Chinese Foreign Ministry said it has made representations to relevant parties following reports of stray artillery shells from Myanmar landing in Chinese territory and causing injuries.

Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said China is closely monitoring the situation in northern Myanmar where Myanmar military and armed groups have been persistently fighting despite talks, and once again called on immediate ceasefire.

China will take necessary actions to protect the safety and security of Chinese personnel and assets, Wang added.
