Kishida says rescue efforts difficult in quake-hit Noto Peninsula

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Thursday that the geography of the Noto Peninsula made search and rescue operations difficult as the death toll from the recent earthquakes rose to 82.

At least 79 people remain unaccounted for, Kyodo News reported on Thursday.
