Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that his country is ready to mediate and host peace talks to resolve the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
Erdogan's remarks came during a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the Turkish presidency.
The Turkish leader stated that a "ceasefire in Ukraine should be established as soon as possible, and the door should be opened for peace."
Erdogan also said it is important to restructure and reopen the grain corridor and that he has been continuing his diplomatic contacts to this end.
The two leaders also discussed the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, the presidency added.
Erdogan noted that he has been exerting tremendous effort to stop the bloodshed and to achieve peace in Palestine as well.
