Environmental expert: China now is the lead in every green technology

04:40

“Ten years ago if people asked me where shall I get the best technology, the best practice, to change the world in the greener direction, I would always answer 'please go to Brussels,'" said Erik Solheim, the president of the Green Belt and Road Institute and former UN Environment Executive Director.

"If people ask me the same questions, I would say 'please go to Beijing.' Or if you cannot go to Beijing, maybe you should go to Shenzhen or Hangzhou, to the big Chinese cities which are leading the transformation," he said.

In this interview with CGTN's reporter Li Jingjing, Solheim, who has been working in the field of environmental conservation for decades, explained how the lead for the world's green transformation has shifted from Europe to Asia.
