China's first domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, completed its maiden voyage on Sunday.

Over 3,000 passengers from 16 countries and regions completed a seven-day, six-night trip to South Korea's Jeju Island and Japan's Fukuoka and Nagasaki.

As a part of the voyage, a series of lectures were given by experts from the Dunhuang Academy, showcasing a digital art gallery themed on murals from the Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Dunhuang, northwest China's Gansu Province.

The cruise ship is 323.6 meters in length with a gross weight of 135,500 tonnes, and can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers across 2,125 guest rooms.

After eight years of scientific research and five years of design and construction, the ship was delivered in November 2023.
