The Afghan caretaker government has asked the international community to show flexibility in recognizing the interim administration as its legitimate government, according to a media report.

Local TV station Tolonews quoted the caretaker government's chief spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, as saying that the caretaker administration has been trying to interact with other countries and has faced "some challenges."

The caretaker government has been ruling the war-town Afghanistan since the withdrawal of the U.S.-led forces in August 2021.

However, despite embassies of several countries still operating in Kabul, no country has recognized the administration as the de jure government.
