Live updates: Over 120 killed after powerful quakes jolt Japan


- Over 120 people have been confirmed dead, with nearly 200 people remaining unaccounted for, in Ishikawa prefecture since a series of earthquakes hit the area in central Japan on New Year's Day.

- The Japan Meteorological Agency has officially named the series of strong earthquakes, with a major one of magnitude 7.6, the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
