Snowfall in the central Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa adds to difficulties for its relief efforts after a magnitude-7.6 earthquake hit the region on New Year's Day. The death toll has risen to 161, and around 320 people remain missing. About 30,000 people are living in evacuation centers, with many areas in the region still without water and electricity.
