Winter has seen the Haritureg river valley in Bortala, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, covered in snow. The valley sits in a lush primitive forest on the southern side of the Alatao Mountains. A national forest park has been established in the valley, covering more than 260 square kilometers.
