Relevant authorities of the Chinese mainland are studying further measures to suspend tariff concessions on products including agriculture and fishery, machinery, auto parts and textiles imported from the Taiwan region, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Tuesday. 

The remarks came after the Chinese mainland suspended preferential tariffs on 12 items of chemical products from Taiwan in response to discriminatory trade measures, taking effect on January 1, 2024.

After the suspension, "Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party authorities have not taken effective measures to remove trade restrictions against the mainland. Instead, they have engaged in political maneuvering in an attempt to plant blame and evade responsibility," the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Tuesday.
