With the opening of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, other city landmarks such as the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Heilongjiang's provincial capital have also been attracting crowds of tourists from around the world. Covered in ice and snow, the ancient structure of the cathedral appears even more solemn and majestic in winter.

Saint Sophia Cathedral is a former Russian Orthodox church built in the Byzantine style, where construction work began in 1907. In 1997, the cathedral was turned into the Harbin Architectural Art Gallery, where it continues to showcase the city's multicultural architectural development over the centuries.
