As the Year of the Loong approaches, traditional craft master Wu Lingshu and a group of folk artists in Nantong, east China's Jiangsu Province have created a range of blue calico "loong." These stuffed dragons, featuring diverse styles, come to life with playful and adorable characteristics, bringing a festive and auspicious touch ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival. Blue calico printing and dyeing has been practiced around Nantong since the beginning of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Making blue calico zodiac mascots has become a tradition at the Nantong Blue Calico Museum, earning widespread popularity.
